In 1978 my elementary school awarded me a blue ribbon for a watercolor and ink painting I created. I was six and thrilled each time I saw my masterpiece hanging in the hallway of the first grade wing. The seeds for a love of art were planted.
When I entered college years later, I didn’t consider majoring in anything but art. During those years, when asked what my major was, I was met by many a confused face, “what do you want to do with that?” they’d ask. Nevertheless, I proudly graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in art. For a couple of years I went adventuring and then, in 1998 I got a job at a great design firm. Seventeen years later I still enjoy working for DOT. I have created imagery for Warner Brothers, Fox, Sony, E!, Miramax, Disney, MGM, Dr. Seuss, Scholastic, The Cartoon Network and many others. I created a new look for the Cat in the Hat and his friends Thing One and Thing Two as well as the Pink Panther. I also created illustrations for Crayola art boxes that are currently being sold in stores near you. I have created character art for Baby First TV, Biscuit, Ice Age, and Hotel Transylvania, to name a few.
Over the years I have had many opportunities to show my fine art work as well. It is a thrill to get my hands dirty playing with real paint, pencils, and charcoal. Better still, sometimes I mix digital art with paint, charcoal and pencil, what a ride.
